Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) is pleased to host Student Research Society Conference (SRSC) titled “Creating solutions for reaching the Sustainable Development Goals”This research society conference aims to bring together undergraduate (bachelor) and postgraduate (master) students from Uzbekistan* who have research interests in business, management, economics, finance, public health, computing, international law, education, languages and related disciplines.

This conference will allow students to present their research ideas to their peers and senior researchers from different universities and stakeholders from the private and public sectors. It will also enable students to experience academic practice by attending a conference.

*International students studying in Uzbekistan can also apply for this conference

The conference will include presentations of research proposals/papers. Experts from industry and academia will participate in presentation sessions and give their feedback to students on how to improve their research. Selected research papers will be published in Conference Proceedings, WIUT Working Paper Series, or the international peer-reviewed journal, Silk Road: A Journal of Eurasian Development https://silkroadjournal.online/, published by Westminster University Press (UK).

The conference will be organised at Westminster International University in Tashkent in a hybrid mode, bringing in-person and virtual participants (online) together. For in-person participants, organisers will cover meals and refreshments. Conference participants willing to join the conference in-person in Tashkent are expected to cover their travel, accommodation and other related expenses. There is no participation fee for the conference. The working language of the conference will be English.

Submissions should include an extended abstract (400-500 words), all authors' full names, affiliations, and contact details. Proposals will be evaluated through a peer-review process according to the originality of the theme and scholarly contribution of research and/or practice, as applicable.

Research Presentation Guidelines

  • The presentation can be made via PowerPoint slides or other presentation tools.
  • 7-8 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A.
  • Research applications will be evaluated based on originality, substance, analytical nature, and clarity of writing.

Awards and Prizes

  • Each presenter will receive a certificate of participation.
  • Special prizes for best papers will be awarded.
